Welcome to Tehilla House, House of Prayer, Thanet, Kent
Tehilla House came into being following a prophetic word given to Honor in 2007 at a weekend Prayer School in Canterbury, Kent. The prophet said “What You are going to raise up is more than a prayer tower. It is going to be a Training Base”. Tehilla started meeting in October 2008 in the Isle of Thanet, in the East of Kent (which includes the towns of Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs, plus villages and hamlets). We have operated from various buildings around Thanet over the years.
The building pictured was the last “home” of Tehilla House which was situated in Cliftonville, Margate. We rented the offices above the Christian Book Centre for seven years. The owner retired and sold the building. Now, we are looking forward expectantly and excitedly to see what the next building is going to be when the Lord reveals it and acquires it for us. Tehilla House, House of Prayer has a two-pronged calling:
Firstly as a prayer group that has met weekly since we started in 2008 to undergird the local and national “Church” in prayer. This group has prayer-walked various Thanet locations over the years asking God for the release of His Holy Spirit in a new way across the churches and in the community. In 2018 a four day, 32 mile, prayer-walk around the perimeter of the Isle of Thanet with people from all over the nation coming to stand with us. It was organised by Prayer Expeditions led by John and Yvonne Pressdee.
Thanet is a gateway area for the releasing of the Gospel into Europe. There is a disused RAF airfield here (RAF Manston) and we felt the Lord ask us to pray for it to be re-instated as a working airfield for the Gospel’s sake. After years of battling in prayer, it now has permission to become a working airfield once again. Praise the Lord! Preparations are under way to get all its infrastructure back and up and running.
We also have a weekly “WhatsApp” prayer group that prays for Israel, the Government and the Monarchy. This is done through texts on “WhatsApp”.

Secondly, we also have Tehilla House, Prayer Training Base, which is a prayer school that again meets weekly to teach, worship and pray. Our mandate from God is to “Prepare the Bride of Christ.” The Prayer Training Base offers Biblical teaching that enables Christians to realise who they are in Christ Jesus, and to gain a better understanding of what exactly His death, resurrection and ascension has provided for them. From their newfound perspective participants can then have a Holy Spirit boldness to pray fervently and effectively, and to see God work in ways that are beyond what we can ask or think or even imagine (Ephesians 3:20). The teaching is interspersed with prophetic worship and intercession. All of this is to:-
- empower believers to grow in their personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ;
- to learn to hear God’s voice, and be released into the spiritual giftings that God has given them;
- to learn how to live and walk as those who are betrothed to Jesus.
We offer teaching courses and workshops, and are available to serve at conferences throughout the year across the nation and in Europe.
Affiliations:
We are closely affiliated to the British Isles Houses of Prayer Network. The affiliated Houses of Prayer meet regularly to share and pray together about what God is doing in the British Isles, and what our individual Houses of Prayer are doing as their part of the bigger picture of the Kingdom of God in Britain and the nations. We do this through Zoom meetings and at a conference once a year.

We are also affiliated with Thanet PrayerNet; a local prayer network which has hosted conferences, prayer days, a bi-monthly prayer diary for the Thanet area; and organised and run a local joint “Thanet Church Together” meeting on a yearly basis (open to all the Christian churches in Thanet).
Advisors:
We have several trusted Christian leaders who act as advisors to Tehilla House, that we relate to and seek advice from when needed. One is a local Thanet church minister, another is a national and international speaker and intercessor, and also the husband and wife co-ordinators of the British Isles Houses of Prayer.
